The aim of the project is to show environmental challenges through art, turning scientific data into an emotional and collective experience. The name “Falak” refers to the traditional folk form of singing and meditation that exists in all countries of the region, through which human experience and concern for nature become common.
The FALAK / Song of Water and Earth exhibition brings together art, education, and environmental initiatives to reflect on the common challenges of Central Asia — climate change, melting glaciers, water scarcity, land degradation, and cross-border environmental risks.
The main elements of the exhibition
- 5 textile tunnels symbolizing the countries of Central Asia
- Multi-level Audiovisual Projection (SRS / Silk Road Songbook)
- A tactile area with a large paper ship, small paper boats, soil, ice elements, and live sprouts
Women in Science / Women in Glaciology — scientific tables with demonstrations about glaciers, permafrost, rivers and field research
Educational and interactive zones
5 large-scale photographic panels with archival materials about glaciers and water resources of the region (10-15 years of observations)
The visual and documentary layer
creation of objects from recycled materials, emphasis on sustainable creativity
Visitors can fold boats and leave messages to the water and nature.
